There was a three way tie on 41 points at the end of the Ladies 4Ball Better Ball competition on Tuesday morning at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club.
However after count back it was Lady Captain Emma Smith and Ali McGown, who were the winners, assisted by Ali’s hole in one on the Par 3 16th hole.
Hilary Parker and Georgia Richards were second and Jan Olive and and Karen Thomas were third.
There was another hole in one in the Ladies Section when Sharon Davies scored an ace earlier in the week.
John Snell with 38 points was the winner in Division One of the Golf Club mid week Stableford competition with 38 points. Two players returned with 37 points but following count back it was William Newnes who claimed second spot just edging in front of George Armstrong. Brian Trickey with 36 points was fourth and Mark Cording fifth with 33.
In Division Two it was Kevin Taylor who was the clear winner on 37 points, four ahead of second placed Steve Coomber with 33, while Peter Dossett with 29 was third.
With the new season’s inter club competitions set to get underway in the forthcoming weeks there are opportunities to become involved in Men's Team Golf during 2025. There are multiple teams and events across friendly, more serious and competitive matches, also including major Somerset Golf Union Knock-outs.
Members can join the squads and make themselves available for individual matches through Clubv1 Hub/Club Teams. Log on and select the Team(s) you wish to join and use the drop-down menu to 'View Team Details' and then 'Apply Now'.
