Fulham manager Marco Silva is not surprised by reported interest from Tottenham.

Silva has been linked with a move across London amid growing pressure on current Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou as the club languishes in 14th in the Premier League table.

Tottenham's hopes this season, and Postecoglou's chances of keeping his job, appear to rest on the club's progress in the Europa League, with a quarter-final tie with Eintracht Frankfurt to come in April.

As such, speculation has swirled over who Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would look to appoint as Postecoglou's successor, with Silva and Bournemouth counterpart Andoni Iraola the names most regularly mentioned.

Silva has again impressed at Fulham, and has the club in a strong position to qualify for Europe next season as they sit eighth in the table, four points off Chelsea in fourth, with nine games left to play.

The 47-year-old was on Tuesday in attendance at the National Association of Football Coaches (ANTF), in Matosinhos, Portugal, and was asked about interest from other clubs.

“It is a natural situation when the objectives are achieved with good results," he said, via Sport Witness.

"When the team plays in a way that recognises quality and that has clearly evolved for players, for the club itself."

Silva’s comments come a day after former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino reiterated his desire to return to Tottenham, having been sacked by Levy in late 2019.
