Three men have been crowned the fastest runners of the Brighton Marathon.
Sam Cook, 29, was the first across the finish line today on Brighton's sunny seafront.
Sam, from Horsham, ran the 26.2 mile route around the city in an impressive two hours, 26 minutes and 47 seconds.
He stormed his way round the course, almost ten minutes ahead of second place.
Speaking to The Argus after crossing the finish line today, April 6, Sam said: "It's surreal, unexpected.

"The crowd is always amazing. I have done Brighton a few times.
"There was a bit of wind in parts, but it was nice having a tail wind coming into the finish.

"A perfect day for it."
Sam, who has run approximately 12 marathons, was supported by his fiancée, family and friends around the route.
He is planning to celebrate this afternoon with some drinks at the pub.
Next over the finish line, completing the marathon in two hours and 34 minutes, was Thomas Blunt, 33.
Thomas, from Shrewsbury, said: "It's pretty amazing.
"Brighton was my first marathon back in 2021.

"I wasn't really expecting it.
"It was difficult conditions, it's hard to stay hydrated when it's this warm.
"My partner is here, she comes to all of my races.
"Without her, I couldn't do any of this."
Thomas said the crowd in Brighton gave him "the lift" he needed to get round so quickly.
He will also be running the London Marathon in three weeks time.
Thomas was closely followed by Hugh Porter, from Ditchling, who finished in 2 hours and 35 minutes.
Hugh, 23, said: "It feels amazing.
"I was hoping for somewhere around two hours 40 minutes.

"I just kept saying to myself 'you've got this'."
This was Hugh's third marathon, having run all three in Brighton.
"It would be nice to come back and get first one day", he added.
