Arsenal head into the first international break of 2025 on the back of ending a three-game winless run in the Premier League.

The Gunners emerged victorious in Sunday’s London derby against Chelsea thanks to Mikel Merino’s header from Martin Odegaard’s corner.

Mikel Arteta’s side now trail Premier League leaders Liverpool by 12 points and whilst they are unlikely to pip the Reds to the title, they remain on course to finish as the best of the rest.

As a result, the Champions League represents Arsenal’s most realistic chance of ending the season with a trophy and there looks to be some positive news on the injury front ahead of the blockbuster showdown with Real Madrid next month.

With that said, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal injuries...

Bukayo Saka

There is good news on Arsenal’s star man. Mikel Arteta has revealed Bukayo Saka will ramp up his rehabilitation this week as he bids to get fit for Arsenal’s Champions League showdown with Real Madrid.

“He is going to be here [at the Arsenal training ground], hopefully more with ball at his feet than he has had,” said Arteta ahead of the 1-0 win over Chelsea.

“That will mean he is passing the ball and shooting and running and everything. He has done quite a lot already on the pitch working on his own.

“Next we need to arrange it with people around him in a more competitive training session and see how he goes with that.

“He’s getting closer, he’s stepping up and making a very good progress I would say. So, let’s see when we start to throw him in with the team, how he reacts and how fit he can get quickly.”

Potential return date: April, 2025

Kai Havertz

It is less positive news for Kai Havertz, who has been ruled out of the rest of the campaign.

The forward suffered a hamstring injury in Dubai shortly after the transfer window had closed, leaving Arsenal without a senior striker.

Havertz underwent surgery and took to Instagram to provide an update: “The last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful op and a win.

“Thanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, it’s really helped. I’m now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background.”

Potential return date: Summer 2025

Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus is another Arsenal forward facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The Brazilian suffered an ACL injury in the FA Cup defeat to Man United in January and subsequently underwent surgery.

Jesus posted a picture of him leaving hospital captioned: “There will always be answers to everything, which we will only know later on.I believe and trust in God.”

Potential return date: Unknown

Takehiro Tomiyasu

It has been another miserable season for Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The Japan international has managed only six minutes of action and has had surgery in an attempt to finally put his injury hell behind him.

“I’ve had a surgery on my knee few days ago and I’ve already started my rehab to do what I love the most again,” he said in an Instagram post last month.

“It has been the toughest period in my career for sure and it carries on a bit more but I won’t give up. Thank you for your support and see you again.”

Potential return date: Unknown
