A long-serving tennis club member who has raised thousands of pounds for charity was presented with an award by a top sports commentator.

Beverley Phillips, from Edgware, was given the Middlesex Lifetime Achievement Award by tennis commentator Marcus Buckland at Queen's Club.

The presentation took place in the presence of Lawn Tennis Association president Sandi Proctor.

Ms Phillips has been an integral part of Acorn Lawn Tennis Club at Canons Park for approximately 20 years, contributing significantly to the club's efforts in raising around £50,000 for various charities.

The Acorn Lawn Tennis Club's annual charity tennis tournament, The Giancarlo Campioni Charity Cup, is scheduled for Sunday, June 29.

All proceeds will be shared equally between the chosen charities.

The award ceremony took place on Saturday, March 8.
