HEREFORDSHIRE cricket have appointed two new members to their cricket development team.

Kate Brazier has been appointed the new cricket development officer for girls and women.

Meanwhile, Ed McCabe is the new cricket performance manager for boys.

General manager Richard Cox said: “I am delighted to welcome both Kate and Ed to the team and really fascinated to see the energy and drive they will bring to the female and male programmes across the county.

“Kate is steeped in club and schools cricket having worked with both Shropshire and Herefordshire on a part-time basis whilst Ed brings a wealth of experience across all sectors of Cricket having amassed 24 years at Warwickshire and his knowledge and experience will transcend many aspects of work in the county as well as our County Age Group pathway cricket.”

Brazier has previously worked with Herefordshire Cricket on several development programmes and projects in schools and across the women’s and girls’ programme.

She currently plays her cricket in and for Shropshire and is a member of Ludlow CC.

An ECB Level 2 coach Brazier has coached across several genres in Herefordshire Cricket and for someone relatively young in years has extensive experience in the female game and is immersed and invested in club cricket.

Meanwhile, McCabe is an ECB Level 3 Coach with numerous responsibilities over many years in their pathway programme in the boys and girls game and in senior management positions at Edgbaston.

He is also an ECB Coach Developer having run numerous coaching courses and has a wealth of experience of planning programmes, managing teams and coaching teams, as well as working with parents and players.
