Ventnor Tennis Club's men's team triumphed over Chichester in a thrilling match.
The encounter took place in Portsmouth and District LTA Men's Doubles Division One, on Sunday, March 9, with Ventnor's young players proving their mettle once again against larger Portsmouth-based clubs.
Ventnor's first pair, Elliot Jones and Hugh Idle, clinched victory against Chichester's second pair in a hard-fought three-set match.
The second pairing from Ventnor, Elliott Rugg and Toby Trotman, faced Chichester's first pair but unfortunately lost.
After the first round, the teams were tied at one match apiece.
In the second round, Jones and Idle secured a straight-set win against Chichester's first pair.
Rugg and Trotman had a nail-biting finish but emerged victorious against Chichester's second pair.
Ventnor now has one more fixture to play this winter season against Warsash next Sunday.
A win could see them top Division One.
