School tennis team crowned regional champions

A Salisbury school's tennis team has been crowned regional champions.

The South Wilts Grammar School (SWGS) senior girls' team won the LTA South West regional championships at Bath University on Thursday, March 13.

The team faced a challenging first-round match against Clifton College, resulting in a tense tie-break shootout.

This set them up for an exciting final against Dean Close.

Miss Weir, joint head of PE, said: "It is down to our students’ commitment, effort and determination as well as all the hard work from Victoria Park Community Tennis, Downton Tennis Club, Riverside Tennis Club, Salisbury Lawn Tennis Club and Andover Lawn Tennis Club.

"It was a wonderful experience for the girls, and it will give them memories that will last a lifetime."
